On this day 5 years ago... I posted and commented on our first ultrasound for Rylan. It has been a long time now posting near daily on this blog. A total of 939 blog posts. As recent months have shown, it has become more and more difficult to find words to continue at full steam. The parent blogosphere has increased a million times over and this once popular daddy blog has been looked over, which is fine. We have all benefited from this website as companies have been generous enough to allow us to review products and giveaway more. The kids have earned money into their savings account by the minimal advertising that I show. Visitors have learned things about our family, parenting, food allergies and quite possibly the most important thing, how to get rid of soap suds in the dishwasher. I have changed the look of the website many of times and realized after the last change that my wife is best at choosing the colors.

I will continue to post the occasional family photo and rather than try to think about what to write about the following day, I will focus on what we are doing and enjoy it without distraction. If you are in fact family and would like to continue hearing about what is going on in our life, please find us on Facebook. For the rest of the visitors, I encourage you to look around in the five years of archives. There is a lot of information to scour through. Some interesting and others not. I know that we will certainly reference back to the archive at times in hope of recouping those foggy memories.

While everyone else has been watching the Olympics, we have been sampling the new Pampers Cruisers with Dry Max. As I previously mentioned, Pampers provided some of the Olympic athletes families with these same diapers.

We received our sample pack of them last week and immediately put one on Kaitlyn. First impression is good. They are so thin that it makes you wonder just how well they are going to work. Kaitlyn enjoyed putting her pants on afterwards and we noticed that you no longer experience the diaper bulge that is typical while wearing diapers. She was able to move around easily with them and she seemed to like them a lot.

As the pack was being used we experienced one minor leak. These diapers do start out as the thinnest diapers I have seen but as wetness is introduced, they blimp up. They blimp up like crazy. I cannot be certain but I am pretty sure that Kaitlyn is not drinking any more water than normal which would cause these diapers to swell up as they do. Moisture or not, these diapers did not cause any diaper rash so that was definitely a good thing.

All in all, I would suggest these diapers for any type of travel. These diapers are easily equal to two Pampers diapers to the thickness of 1 normal diaper. I imagine they would be appreciated in a diaper bag. <s>Speaking of diaper bag, today I am opening a giveaway for a pack of these Pampers Cruisers with Dry Max and a Liz Lange Diaper Clutch. This giveaway is open until 11:59pm PST on March 9th. To enter, just leave a comment.</s>

They are offering a sample three-pack of Pamper Cruisers with Dry Max on their website Pampers.com. These are the same diapers that are going to the Olympics on the small children of the USA athletes. They help lock wetness away for up to 12 hours which is said to be their driest diaper ever. These diapers go officially on the shelves in March so take advantage of these freebies by checking out Pampers.com. Definitely sounds like a gold winning freebie to me.

Well of course the special thing we did last weekend was head over to Disneyland. We went for 2 days and we had a blast. The crowds were very light and the weather was perfect. We had a chance to see a whole bunch of characters and just take our time. We went on the It's a Small World a bunch of times and we loved singing the songs. They had it Christmas themed so that made it even better.

Kaitlyn is our princess but she really turned into one when Mom got her a princess dress at the park. She looked beautiful and received many compliments. As for me, I slayed the dragon and earned a shield and sword. We really had a great time.

We have been relaxing this week after coming home and not doing much. We haven't even removed our Christmas decorations yet. That's OK though because Christmas is definitely our favorite holiday. Maybe we will just leave it all up until next year.

I guess that's about it. I think we have something planned for tomorrow early morning so that should be pretty exciting. We will definitely be getting pictures of it as well. Until then, have a good weekend.

We had quite a bit going on this week. We headed out for New Years Eve with our neighbor friends. We all had a nice dinner. Everyone was jealous that Kaitlyn and I had super pancakes on our plate. Mom put whipped cream, candies and even a cherry on top. It was a great way to celebrate the holiday. We even had a chance to try some sparkling cider too.

Our Moms Grandma came to town from El Paso and we hung out with her quite a bit. Of course most of it revolved around eating but that was OK. Our dad made us some BBQ Tofu blocks for one of the meals but it wasn't very good. Better luck next time dad. The best part about people coming into town is when we get a chance to sing and dance for them. Our favorite thing right now is singing the "You put the lime in the coconut" song. Kaitlyn loves to yell "Call the Doctor!". It's really funny.

As our Dad mentioned the other day, We won the 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs' DVD. We won when our Mom and Dad ordered a special pizza at Buca Di Beppo that they were offering. We went back the next day with our Grandma Michele to pickup the DVD and have another meal. It's always fun eating meals with the Grandparents.

We have a special weekend planned and we will definitely be putting pictures up soon. It's going to be fun. I hope you all can have a good of a weekend as we will be having.

The other night we headed out for dinner and decided on Buca Di Beppo. A good family style Italian restaurant that we know is rarely busy and is perfect for possibly rowdy kids. As we sat down I grabbed a flyer informing of their new meatball pizza for a promotion they are doing with the movie 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs'. They were offering a chance to win a copy of the movie if you purchased the new pizza. We thought about it for a moment and decided that since this place is always so slow and kids seem to be scarce, it may be a good idea to try for the freebie as the chances of winning are likely. Turns out we made the right choice. The manager came up moment after ordering the pizza to inform us that rather than a random pull from a hat, they had a few copies to give away to the first amount of people and we fell into that. We were thrilled.

We picked up the DVD last night and the kids were excited as expected.

Sometimes as they say, you are just in the right place at the right time. That happens to be what happened last night when we walked into a local comic book store last night. Rylan has really become interested in all of the superheros so we figured he would enjoy a look around. We didn't know that Vincent DePorter (known for his work drawing Scooby Doo, Spongebob Squarepants and others) was there signing comics and drawing up sketches. He took unique request such as a mash up between Shaggy and the Joker. This prompted me to ask if he could draw a picture of the kids with Scooby Doo. This is the result. Two pieces of custom artwork, made especially for the kids, that they can look back on a long time from now and remember the moment.

The kids definitely had a lot of fun this year with Christmas. They learned to sing a bunch of new songs and they really took hold of the holiday. Kaitlyn learned from Rylan's excitement that this was a holiday not to miss. As we do every year, the kids had a few parties and gift opening a few days before. They enjoyed the time with their cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents.

On Christmas Eve the kids made Christmas cookies for Santa and then made sure to leave him a few for his troubles. We didn't forget the carrots for the reindeer. The kids were a bit put off though when I told them that Santa may let the reindeer in and they may poop on the carpet. Kaitlyn let out a "ewww stinky" and Rylan immediately wanted to take them off of the plate. They ended up leaving them and also leaving Mrs. Claus a cookie as well.

The kids of course woke up to a magical sight when they came down stairs. Grandma was there to greet them and that was just the start of the fun. They didn't seem to have any gifts that were disliked but Kaitlyn did get a scare when she opened Rylan's gift to her and found nothing in it. The gift in fact got caught in the tissue paper that was pulled out in a hurry. Rylan had a big surprise coming to him from Grandma when he opened his big gift which was a Bat Man cave toy. He was thrilled. Kaitlyn's most favorite gift was certainly the vanity that her Great Grandma sent. Santa wrapped up the morning by dropping off two toys of his own which was a new kitchen set and dishwasher.

I had made three types of banana bread for the morning so we calmed the morning down by eating together. It wasn't long before we headed back out to eat with both Grandma and Grandpa at Buca Di Beppo.

Christmas 2009 is over and I can't wait until next year to see the kid's face of pure enjoyment.

Well this week has been filled with sighting of Santa. First off, both Kaitlyn and I both got a call from him. I couldn't believe it. A few days ago our Dad really surprised us though when he had him give us a video message on the computer. Oh man was it exciting. I just sat there with my hands over my mouth. He talked to us about being good and even showed us what we were really wanting for Christmas. It was great. To top everything off though, we headed over to the mall yesterday to actually see the real Santa Clause. Kaitlyn wasn't too excited about seeing him but I sure was. We got to take a few pictures and then I had a chance to tell him what I wanted for Christmas again. I think he is going to come through this year for both Kaitlyn and I.

We have been decorating the house for our upcoming Christmas party. We have been making a bunch of crafts like wreaths, snowmen, snowflakes and other goodies.. We have a full line up of fun stuff to eat at the party that Mom and Dad are planning to make. It should be a yummy party just like our last two events.

Our neighbor friend that is in need of a kidney has gone into complete failure. We are now seeking hard for a donation. She does get to come home today after being in the hospital for a few days so that is really exciting. She is one of our favorite neighbors so we really want to hang out with her soon.

That is gonna wrap it up for the week. Have a good one.

Well of course last week was Thanksgiving and it turned out great. Mom and Dad worked on the food and we had a bit of family over. The food turned out great and everyone had a good time. We got a few gifts to kick off the Christmas season. I got a Christmas themed Wii game and Kaitlyn got a Christmas Strawberry Shortcake movie. We like them a lot.

We headed out to do a bit of shopping on Friday. We woke up really early to go to one of the stores. I got woken up and asked why we were awake. When our mom told us why, I responded with "I am going to be tired today" in a very funny tone. The day went great though and Kaitlyn and I didn't fuss one bit. Of course we crashed that night but the day went really well. The next day we made up for it though and had a couple of melt downs. That's just how it goes I guess.

We have been hanging out with our neighbors a lot lately. In fact we are going out to dinner tonight and then over to the Phoenix Children's Museum. Both places are said to be haunted so this is our official ghost hunting night. I don't think we will necessarily find any ghosts but I know we will have a good time.

Oh ya. Our Mom really put us in a festive mood the other morning when she made us Christmas themed bagels. Whole wheat bagels with green and red cream cheese. She really knows how to make the best goodies. Dad surprised us yesterday too with bringing home a few Christmas Disney coloring pages. He threw in a few other pages too and we focused on staying in the lines. I worked hard at it and just about completed an entire Transformers coloring page. I colored inside of the lines on a whole bunch of different sections. It was definitely something worth keeping.

That's gonna do it for this week. It's finally getting cold outside and for the first time we had to turn our heater on last night. It was a chilly one.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Our friend is currently on the transplant list for a Type O kidney. She has been living on the list for quite some time but has recently been told by her nephrologist that it is time to start looking around for alternative sources. If you or anyone you know would like further information on possibly donating one of your own Type O kidneys, please email me directly at insearchof@webgoonies.com. Like us, she is in Arizona however there are programs that will pay for a donor's travel expenses and hotel while they recuperate. Her insurance would be paying for the procedure.

Thank you.
